Tag it. Scan it. Get it back.
FindMyClubs is a QR-code-based identification and return assistance system for golf clubs and golf equipment. It enables people who find registered equipment to contact the owner directly or through an online notification system. It is not a GPS tracking service.
The three steps
- Step 1 Tag it. Attach and register the labels, and choose how finders can contact you.
- Step 2 Scan it. A finder scans the QR code or enters the identification code on the website.
- Step 3 Get it back. The finder contacts you directly or through FindMyClubs, and you arrange the return.
Labelling and registering your equipment
-
Get a FindMyClubs set
FindMyClubs is available from participating golf club pro shops and selected golf retailers. A standard set contains 17 QR identification labels: 14 small labels for golf clubs and 3 larger labels for golf bags, trolleys or other equipment.
-
Attach the labels
Place one small label on each club, just below the grip. Place the larger labels on a clearly visible outer surface of your golf bag, trolley, rangefinder or other suitable equipment.
-
Create your account
Register on the FindMyClubs website, confirm your e-mail address and sign in. You can start by scanning one of your labels, which takes you to the registration page.
-
Register each label
In your account, add each item and link it to its label by scanning the QR code or entering the identification code printed below it. Registering the first label in a set starts its 5-year service period.
-
Choose how finders can contact you
Decide which contact details, if any, a finder may see. If you prefer to stay private, finders can send you a message through the FindMyClubs notification system instead. You can change these settings in your account at any time.
Found a club with a FindMyClubs label?
Thank you for helping. Contacting the owner needs no app and no account.
-
Scan the QR code
Point the camera of an internet-connected smartphone at the label and open the link. No special app and no FindMyClubs account are needed.
-
Or enter the code manually
If the QR code cannot be scanned, enter the identification code printed below it on the FindMyClubs website using the “Found a Club?” button.
-
Contact the owner
Depending on the owner’s privacy settings, the finder sees the contact details the owner has chosen to share, or sends a message through FindMyClubs. The owner receives that message by e-mail.
-
Arrange the return
Owner and finder agree on how the equipment gets back, for example collection at the golf club. FindMyClubs puts them in touch; it does not collect or ship equipment itself.
Tip: lost equipment is often handed in to the golf club’s office or pro shop.
What FindMyClubs does, and what it does not do
FindMyClubs does
- Identify registered equipment through a unique QR code and identification code.
- Let a finder contact the owner directly or through the notification system.
- Keep your contact details private unless you choose to share them.
- Work in a web browser wherever the finder has a compatible smartphone and internet access.
FindMyClubs does not
- Locate missing equipment. There is no GPS or other location tracking.
- Need batteries, charging or an electronic device on your club.
- Guarantee that lost equipment will be found or returned.
- Sell directly to consumers. Sets are available from participating retailers.
